The Perfect Clutch Purse

I read somewhere that you should find a clutch purse that could double as your wallet in your everyday bag so that it makes an easy day to night time activities transition. Thus, my current obsession is trying to find the perfect clutch purse.

On my journey to find the perfect clutch purse, I picked up to clutches that are "almost, but not quite." The first one I found at a consignment shop. It's a Kate Spade clutch purse (picture to be added later) that I bought for $4.00. While it was a steal of a purchase, it still has some downsides:

1)) Can't be used as a wallet. No slots for different credit cards, money, or ID holder.

2) It's a small open space. Only room for my drivers license, a debit card, folded cash, one lipstick and my cell phone. You have to put everything in just right to have it all fit.

3) The clasp occasionally will open on it's own . .which doesn't ease my mind on security.

The second clutch I got from Guess. I actually really like this one because I can either hold it under my arm or use the wrist band to hang it from my wrist. The picture on the left is similar to the one I got, but mine is black leather. It's actually perfect as a stand alone clutch, but there are some flaws:

1) Cannot be used as a wallet. Once again, no slots for more than one card, no slot for cash. Currently, I throw my money in a secret pocket hidden by the fold.

2) There is a magnet to fold the purse in half. While this makes for more room in the purse, I'm apprehensive about the magnet because one magnetic wallet I had demagnitized one of my credit cards which made it a pain to use!

3) While it can hold a lot more stuff than the Kate Spade, it still has it's limits. It can hold my spare keys, money, debit and license, lipstick, and cellphone. However, if I try to put my car keys instead of the spare, then I run into closing issues.

So in thinking about the perfect clutch, for it needs to have these components:

1) The wristlet and holding power of the Guess clutch purse as seen in the picture above.

2) Slots like a wallet for credits cards and money so that it can double as a wallet like the Urban Outfitter wallet in the picture on the left. There's even a place for change! What's missing from this clutch is a wristlet strap and a place for keys and a cell phone.

3) Pockets or space for a cell phone. Lord knows I'm not going to wear pants roomy enough to keep a cell phone in my pocket! And I needs to have my phone! A set up like this Botkier Bag (seen right) would be nice. Again, wallet potential is low and I would prefer a wrist strap than the full strap.
I'm just too damn pickey!

Speaking of bags, i bought an awesome one today. Its cream leather, with short thick cylindrical straps, the kind that goes in the crook of your arm, not shoulder.
LOVE it. i saw it yesterday and resisted, but i woke up this morning WANTING it, so went and bought it. :-)
any luck on finding your clutch/ evening purse yet?
