Waffle and coffee . . .quite honestly this is the best go to breakfast ever. Just needs banana.
I got to work and got the go ahead to send out the admission e-mails for the program. I always get into a bundle of nerves at this part. Everytime I hit the send button for those that are denied or waitlist I have remember to breathe because I know that soon will follow the phone calls and e-mails of their disappointment. Unfortunately, I am only the messenger, but I feel their frustration and I would love to help, but I can’t.
While I was a bundle of nerves, I enjoyed Monday’s snack on Tuesday.
Whole grain fig newtons and dried apricots (there was four, but I ate one before I took the picture. For such a small snack, it was actually quite filling.
After a very short meeting, I went straight to lunch.
Leftover stoup (stew+soup) from Sunday and car-celerslaw (Carrot + celery coleslaw, yes, I am making names as I go along. It’s my blog and I do what I want!). I got to say, I enjoyed the car-celerslaw more than the stoup. I think I just wanted something crunchy and the slaw fit the bill. I still finished everything. But I was still craving something with a real crunch to it.
Enter a trail mix pack that a co-worker of mine gave me on Monday when I forgot my lunch.
Ahhh that hit the spot!
The afternoon went on with fielding phone calls and e-mails from students, going through my To Do list, etc. I was staying a little later for an event, so I grabbed a bag of popcorn to hold me over until the dinner party.
I didn’t finish the whole bag, so I went around to all my coworkers and begging them to take some!
There was a little fire that had to be put out regarding an event that I was photographing for work, but everything got taken care of the event went well.
After work, I high tailed it to my friend Tasha’s new house for a dinner party that she was throwing for the girls. I was excited to finally be able to use my camera in a get-together kind of setting. Unfortunately, when I got there, I was apparently more interested in taking pictures of Tasha’s dogs, I forgot to take any pictures of the girls!
But how can you resist when you are greeted in this manner by the pups! (F.Y.I. - I call all dogs of any ages pups or puppies.)
Or when they pose like this for the camera!
I mean look at how Lola works that cast with the beautiful Tiffany!
I did manage to take pictures of the food and drinks!
Homemade pizza! Healthy and Delicious!
We also enjoyed some spirits (a.k.a. alcohol) as well.
hmmm . . check out that deliciousness!
I did manage to take some pictures of the girls.
So I’m going to chalk this up as me still learning . . .next time . . .it’s on!
On the healthy living front:
I did pretty good today. I went through all the snacks that I had and ate through my lunch and did not starve! The chicken adobo is the not the healthiest of Filipino cuisine, so I had a little of that. The pizza was A-MAZING! I’m so excited to try making pizza this weekend! I think right now, I just need to really concentrate on getting a good night’s rest. For the past three nights I’ve been going to bed late and not having a great time waking up in the morning. Tonight’s goal is to go to bed at 10 or 10:30!
On the fashion front:
The theme of the party was shoes. Everyone knows about my purse addiction, but what may be little known is that I once had a shoe addiction. I get that from my mom. It had calmed down in recent years (basically replaced by my purse addiction). After tonight, oh man, I can feel my shoe addiction floating up to the surface. Tiffany and Tasha had some great shoes.
Jessica Simpson! Guess! These girls are my fashion icons! Just when I thought I satisfied my shoe itch with the Aldo Wedge boot . . . *sigh*
On the running front:
Tonight I’m going to yoga. It will be the last yoga class before I start my running regime next week so I’m going to milk that stretching for what it’s worth! I'm planning to go the gym on Thursday after work! I’m excited to get back onto the elliptical! Then next week, I’m going to treadmill it up like it’s nobody’s business.
