NEW TECH! NEW TECH!

After a night out in Ann Arbor on Saturday, a chilled Sunday was in order. I met up with an old sorority sister of mine, Liz, for a late breakfast at the Omelette and Waffle Cafe in Downtown Plymouth. It was fun to catch up! I enjoyed a half order of good old fashioned golden pancakes

Look at that Yums!

Liz and I stayed at the café unitl they were about to close! Time flies when you are catching up!

After that, I went to Best Buy and . . . .wait for it . . . BOUGHT MY NEW CAMERA!!!!!!

This will be the last picture taken by my phone! Yes, I realize that it is weird to take a picture of a camera with another camera!

I now owned the Canon SX120 IS! I have drooling and obsessing about this camera for the past month now! I wasn’t planning on buying it this weekend, but when I told Marcin how all my refund money came in, he asked “So you are getting the camera tomorrow?” I love him so!

So I have the camera, a carrying case, rechargeable batteries (look Ma! I’m living green!), a card reader, and a 4GB card! I’m so excited. I immediately put my camera to good use. Since it had been hours since I last ate, I proceeded to get working on a late lunch.

I needed to use up some vegetables that I had bought a week ago. I knew if I didn’t use them now, they would go bad and I would be forced to throw the out. So I took half of the leftover celery and carrots to add to this can of soup:

I bought this brand of soups because they were healthy and hearty, but from a previous experience, I knew that this can of soup needed more vegetable goodness.

To the soup, I added three small carrots shopped up and three celery sticks chopped up. Next came a handful of fresh parsley and a can of tuna.
I added to much vegetables for the broth that the soup came in, I had to add more vegetable broth to compensate for that. That’s fine. Leftovers for tomorrow! One can of soup to cover two meals!

While I was waiting for the soup to heat up, I played with my camera more. Check out these shots!
I love playing with natural light and shadows.  These are my favorites from my play time.

That purse you see is going to by my bridal purse/bridal bouquet. Yep that’s right folks. I have taken my purse obsession to a new level. Not only will this purse be my purse for the wedding, it is also going to double as my bridal bouquet!

Once the soup was finished, I sat down and ate while looking through some magazines that I hadn’t been able to get to. After my late lunch, I had to think of what to do with the other half of the celery and carrots. I just starting slicing both the celery and carrots and in the middle of my slicing, I thought “COLESLAW!”

Yes I know, coleslaw is typically lettuce or cabbage, but I thought, why not other types of vegetables! So I found a recipe for the South Beach coleslaw in my South Beach Cookbook. However, I didn’t have mayonnaise or dijion mustard. So instead I substituted the mayonnaise with Kraft Light 1000 island and regular mustard for dijion mustard. Put everything together in a bowl . .voila two servings of celer-carrot-slaw. I also added parsley just to use it up more.

It doesn’t look pretty, but it actually taste really good!

I finally got to sit down and relax at around 4, so I got caught up on shows on my DVR and magazines.
Enjoyed this delicious snack before heading back to the house (white cheddar rice cake, with dark chocolate peanut butter and dried turkish apricots.

When I got to the house, Marcin wanted to check out my new tech.  We played around with the different settings and tested the 10x zoom.

Here's a pictures of Marcin sitting in our sitting room.  I was in the kitchen and zoomed in on him using all of the 10x optical zoom!

For dinner, Marcin had leftover polish food.  Meat patties and rice.

He was excited as I was about the new tech. He even let me borrow his work computer to type up my weekend blog and look at the pictures!

On the fashion front:

Check out my relaxed weekend chic outfit.

I’ve been rocking this vest a couple days this week. These are a lot of my favorite pieces. Favorite relaxed pair of jeans, favorite graphic tee, favorite vest, and favorite oxford shoes! Guest starring, new favorite piece of tech!

So now it’s time for Sunday night ritual! Till Monday!

**Whew** I think I've caught up on my weekend!  We really need to get internet at the new place!
