One step closer

My federal tax refund has been deposited into my checking account!!!  Now, I just have to wait for my state refund to come in and then I can FINALLY get my new camera!!!!!  YAYS!  Technically, I can order my camera now since my federal refund more than covers the cost of the camera kit that I have been drooling over, but I want to be good, financially responsibly girl, and wait (and it's killing me!).

On the healthy living front:
So far i have been doing a pretty good job on the following things:
1) Eating breakfast - I was T.E.R.R.I.B.L.E. at this for the past three years.  My daily breakfast every morning during the work week?  Coffee . . and that's it!  Now thanks to all the healthy living blogs that I have started to following (Graduate Meghann, Carrots N'Cake, Healthy and Fun, and Emily Eats Clean) I feel more motivated and inspired to start the day with a simple, easy to make, hearty breakfast.

2) Drink more water - Coffee is still my morning staple, but now I try to finish my coffee during my 30 ish minute commute to work.  I leave my tumbler in the car (brought in today for the photo-op) and then for the rest of the day, I keep my Planet Blue water bottle in front of me so that I am reaching for that and not running to a pop machine!

3) Cooking more and getting take-out less - So far so good, although I think I need to adopt better grocery buying strategies because I'm finding that I'm not using up all of the fruits and vegetables that I buy in a timely manner.  I may adopt the "buying fruits and vegetables as i need them" or "for the week priniciple" instead of buying what I anticipate to cook in the next coming weeks.  Paid day is next week, so we shall see.

On the fashion end:

Well the last two days I had some really stellar outfits!  I had lots-o-meetings on Tuesday (all of which were very important and I had to present at pretty much every single one of them).  I think I've weeded out my winter wardrobe of the drabby sweaters that i have had since high school (I'm not joking, just last week, I wore one of those turtle neck sweaters that I know there is a picture of me in it when I was a sophomore in high school . . .circa 1997!).  Probably next winter I will need to hit the stores for more winter staples.  I will take my sister along.  She hearts the winter sweaters like WHOA!

On the running end:

Well, I haven't been running since November (sigh) due to my knee.  I think that the weekly yoga session that I've started has definitely been helping with my knee issues.  I also bought a new pair of cushy shoes that I can't wait to try on.  I will start running again in March.  My friend Tasha has told me a few nature trails that are around the Plymouth area, so I'm look forward to good scenery and no more concrete!  10K here I come!

I can't wait to get my camera!  Then I can really get this blog rolling!

No No, thank you for having such an awesome blog that's addicting!

I'm excited about the new camera. I'm currently using my cell phone's camera (Palm Centro)! I can't wait for a decent tech!
