Life is a Constant State of Transitions

This weekend was insane!  We removed wallpaper, spackled, and primed the guest bedroom at our house.  Tonight we will paint the room in a nice blue color.

In lieu of HU-MUN-GO post about my weekend, I will give you the highlights for each section:

On the healthy living front:
High point of the weekend:  Spartacus dinner Part Duex  on Sunday:

Tomato and mozzerella

Cucumbers and Muenster cheese (seasoned with paprika)

Salami, Turkey, and Ham

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus and Dill Pickles
All shared with a fourth of Ciabatta bread
Delicious and light!  Also a high point, Marcin had his regular doctor's check up for his diabetes and his A1C levels was lower from his last visit (He is normally above 7 and for diabetics you want to be below.  His was 6.8!)  He goes every six months for these tests so my goal for his next one in six months is to get it to 6.5-6.7.

Low point of the weekend:  Jet's BLT Pizza
On Saturday, we had been working all day to remove wallpaper (it's a looooong and tedious process!) and we did not have the energy to cook.  So we ordered pizza and had it delivered.  Although, with a $16.00 bill,  I think we will try to find the energy to eat next time!

On the fashion front:
Friday was my day off.  After waiting for our dining set to be delivered, I went to the mall to get a manicure.  I stopped into Von Maur to see look at their purse selection.  BIG MISTAKE!  I found my dream October purse there!
Madison Leather Hippie (Retailed at $298.00)
It's my dream October purse since it is white and I will be getting married in October.  I immediately texted my sister (who is the one who turned me on to Coach purses after I turned her on to purses in general!).  Our text conversation went as follows:

Me:  I just found my dream October purses at Von Maur
Sherry: Are you Okay?  Cause you know Coach has the power to make us sad

We both have found the perfect Caoch purse for one thing or another, but do not have the means to purchase such precious items.  *Sigh*  Soon Coach . . .S.O.O.N.  My sister and I made a date to go to the Coach outlet for my birthday.  Maybe then, I will be able to appease my purse appetite with something.

On the active living front:
Friday I ran either 2 miles or 2.15 miles.  I ran at this park near our house that is not very clear on the measurements.  There is a nature trail part of the track that is 1/3 mile and I ran that 3 times . .so there's a mile.  The track in the park is either 3 times around = 1 mile like I was told by some ladies walking the track or 2 2/3 times around - 1 miles like it said on the website.  I think I'm just going to find another park!

Saturday & Sunday was spent working on the Guest Bedroom!  Let me tell you, removing wall paper from a room is tiring stuff!  But now, the room is primed and ready for paint which is task for tonight!  Wish us luck!

Constant State of Transitions:
Some recent events have found me reflecting earlier today and remembered when I first got my current job back in 2007.  I remember telling my future supervisor that I was looking forward to finally settled down and not be in a transition mode.  In 2004 I was transitioning from undergrad to working a sort of part time job (I worked full time, but did not receive any benefits).  From 2005-2007 I was in a grad program and living on my own for the first time.  Being in the grad program, my scheduled changed from one semester to the next.  2007, I transitioned from Grad school to the real working world. I thought I would settle a little then, but I found this earlier post where I was feeling restless and needed something!

Now, I'm currently in a transitional phase of living on my own in my apartment to living with my fiancee.  Quite literally, I'm live in two places.  It's been interesting to say the least.  But I will relish the day that I no longer have to deal with my overnight bag!

I'm also thinking about taking this blog to the next level.  I've taken steps to put myself out of my comfort zone and challenge myself.  You may notice some small changes if you have been following this blog and are observant.  But we shall see.

So here's to never settling in life and putting yourself in a constant state of transitions.  It definitely makes for an interesting life.
