Went home from work and changed. My sister called me in need of refuge. She is studying for the GRE and there are too many distractions and not enough private space at our parent's house. She is currently holed up in our guest room studying her brains out! While she took to the books, Marcin and I took to the gym. It was a bit of a struggle, but I will talk more on that later.
Thursday
Dinner
Chicken Gyro with fries
Due to a time crunch with the gym, Guy's night, and the lack of imagination for dinner, we stopped at a local Coney Island for dinner.
Now it's time to catch up with my fellow bloggers, a little bit of Pretty Little Liars, and a TALL glass of water!
On the healthy living front
Lately, I've been having these sharp pains in my chest area. I say "chest area" because it's not quite in my lungs or heart, but I don't think it's in the muscle area. It happens sometimes when I breathe and last for a couple of seconds. Today while running, it happened on my left side and when I reached with my right hand to massage it, I got a major cramp on my right side. So there I was running with a sharp pain on my left and a major cramp on my right. That's it, tomorrow, I'm calling the doctor.
On in case any of you are wondering what Marcin's 3 day old bruises look like, check this out:
NASTY! It looks like a slab of beef with freezer burn!
On the fashion front
Check out my 5 day old henna tattoo!
I still love it, but not enough to get a permanent one.
On the active living front
Today was Speed Workout #1 Take Two. The Speed Workout #1 is this:
Warm Up - 1 mile - Speed of 5.3
Hard run - 1/2 mile - Speed of 6.5
Easy run - 1/2 mile - Speed of 5.5
Hard run - 1/2 mile - Speed of 6.5
Slow down - 1/2 mile - Speed of 5.0
Slow down - 1/2 mile - Speed 2.0
Despite the sharp pains in my chest, it was a successful run. I also finally bought myself a foam roller.
I've read about the benefits of foam rolling from Matt's Blog (The Kitchen of a Runner) and with my knee and hip starting to hurt this week, I went to Target to buy one! I used it today just as Matt described in his Foam Rolling series. I already feel a difference in my left knee (which has been giving me the biggest problem lately)! Thanks Matt!
Good night Lovelies!
