I'm in P.A.I.N.

I don't know what I did yesterday, but today I'm ache so much, it hurts to even sit.  I'm glad that today is a rest day!

Thursday

Breakfast:

Kept it simple:  1/2 greek yogurt, 1/2 cottage cheese (fat free), Cascadian Farms Mulit Grain Squares.  With a black coffee.

Got to work, checked e-mails, went to a meeting.  Before I knew it, it was time for lunch.

Lunch
Even though I packed a great lunch, I remembered that I had leftover's from Tuesday's lunch.  I wanted to finish that up.

Za's Make Your Own Pasta (Whole Grain Rotini, broccoli, mushrooms, asiago cheese, in pesto sauce) and 1/2 of the HUGE bread it came with!

After lunch, I got work on doing some major cleaning of my office!  I have so many files and stacks of paper that I just needed to go through and organize and file away.  Took all afternoon, but 2009-2010 files are pretty much filed away (I have some that are still waiting for final documents.) and I have a list of files that I will need for the 2010-2011 Academic year!  Plus, my desk, computer, and shelving units have been wiped clean and rearranged to hopefully a more efficient workspace.  Took a mini break in the afternoon for a Ice Cream trip to Stucchi's with my co-workers.  Our Supervisor treated us!  It was in celebration of my co-worker's birthday on Wednesday!

Went home and changed for the gym.  Today was my first Speed Workout.  I've started Self Magazine's Running Plan (even though this is my first week, I'm on Week 5).  I'm hoping that following this plan will help me train for the 5 miler in July!

I was completely zonked when I went home.  We heated up a Digiorno Supreme pizza.

Dinner

Nom nom nom

Ok, I'm going to share with you all a secret.  Typically, on pizza, you can add parmesan cheese (which I did) and  red pepper flakes (also added to my slice).  However, something I started doing since I have been with Marcin . . .
I've been adding ketchup to my pizza.  Weird I know.

The first time he did this, I thought it was weird.  Then I took a bite of his ketchuped slice and I got hooked.  So now I do it.

I had ever intention of blogging last night, but my body started to ache so badly.  I ended up flipping through Maire Claire and finished my Nora Robert's book

Went to bed aching all over!

Friday

Breakfast
I opted for Green Tea instead of black coffee.  I read somewhere that green helps with achey muscles and cell regeneration.  I also slept in, so I made a quick stop at Espresso Royale for a chocolate croissant for breakfast.  Unfortunately, I was in a achey daze and on autopilot, I forgot to take a picture.

I'm hoping that I pull it together for tonight - Ethiopian Food Take 2 with my favorite couple - Stella and Tim!

On healthy living:
I think that drinking 16 oz. of water first thing in the morning has been helping my digestive system alot.  I even got Marcin doing it when he caught on to what I was doing.  He's mostly doing it to hydrate himself.

On the fashion front:
Nothing to report . . .actually, I probably have something . .but my brain is fried.

On the active living front:
This was the original plan for Speed Work out #1:
Warm Up - 1 mile - Speed of 5.0
Hard run - 1/2 mile - Speed of 6.5
Easy run - 1/2 mile - Speed of 5.5
Hard run - 1/2 mile - Speed of 6.5
Slow down - 1/2 mile - Speed of 5.5
Slow down - 1/2 mile - Speed 5.0

Total mileage - 3.5

However my earphones decided to slip and slid all over the place and refuse to stay on my ears.  I had to keep readjusting them.  All that extra movement caused cause a sever cramp on my side and a lack of concentration on my part. So this is what actually happened:

Warm Up - 1 mile - Speed of 5.0

Hard run - 1/2 mile - Speed of 6.5
Easy run - 1/2 mile - Speed of 5.5
Hard run - 1/2 mile - Speed of 6.5
Coold down - 1/2 mile - Speed of 2.5

Total mileage - 3.0

It was not too bad, but I know I can do my original plan.  This weekend - BUY A NEW PAIR OF HEADPHONES!

I recommend Nike's Vapor headphones. They are totally worth the money and never move an inch when I'm running- I can't get any other headphones to stay in my ears cos they are so small!
