Impromptu Dance Party! My Weekend Part 1!

Well, it was another jammed pack weekend.  The eats wasn't too terrible . . .

Friday
Breakfast - Not pictured and I cannot remember what I ate!
Lunch
Leftover turkey taco meat with chickpeas, beets, peas, corn, and edamame

Dinner

A repeat of Wednesday's Salad

Friday night, Marcin and I met with our friends Chris O.  Molly T. at a quaint martini bar, 336 Main,  in Downtown Plymouth.  What should have been a nice quiet evening out with friends turned into an evening of complete randomness:

1) Our waitress was completely off her game and kept forgetting our refill orders.  She even brought an extra glass of beer that nobody order.  I gladly accepted the errant beer!
2) Due to a bad storm that came quickly through Southeast Michigan, and bar went into complete darkness as the power went out.  A minute later, the power went out outside in Downtown Plymouth where an outdoor concert was in progress.  Downtown Plymouth was completely dark.  The power came back on, but flickered for about an hour or so.
3) Upon heading to the bathroom with Molly T.  a guy called out "Hey You."  While normally, I do not respond to this, I looked around and saw some random dude walking towards me.  The conversation went like this:
Random Guy:  What school did you go to?
Me: Which one, high school?  College?  Grad?
Random Guy starts naming random schools.  To which say no to them.
Random Guy: Divine Child
Me:  No . .oh wait Yes (I have had a couple and was in desperate need for a bathroom, ergo, a bit slow on the uptake)
Random Guy:  What class?
Me:  Class of 99

Apparently, Random Guy was in my class for the first two years of high school.  I still had no idea who he was at this point, but he made it a point to say "I recognized you!"  I should note that in my high school class there was, oh, 6 Asians out of 30 some students.  However, I wasn't popular or infamous in high school, so despite the demographic statistic, I'm still surprised that he recognized me.

Anyways, after that random encounter, the gang left the bar and headed over the the house for some great conversation and a little bit more spirits!

Saturday
Day trip to Grand Rapids, MI!  Our friends, Tasha and Brian threw together an awesome adventure for us to help celebrate their 70th Birthday (total, turning 30 and 40 respectively).  They hosted a big group of friends to go to the Founders Fest, a beer festival in Downtown Grand Rapinds!  Before we headed out, Marcin and I enjoyed a quick breakfast.
Breakfast:

Whole wheat toast with "Bunny Mush", poached egg, turkey bacon, and ketchup

After picking up some provisions (read - beer and gatorade), we headed off to Tasha and Brian's house.
I think I would let the pictures speak for themselves.

The Party Tour Bus!

"Attention Passengers, you are about to embark on a Road Trip of Shenanigans!"

The Birthday couple came up with road games and treats for the crew including . . .

Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes (Bailey's in the frosting, Jameson in the ganache, and Guinnes in the cupcake)

Nom nom nom

Games included "Guess the Beer Label," "#1 Song on the Birth Date (I won a T-shirt!)," and "Is it Brian or not?" All hilarious and all fun.  The games and the treats took up most of the drive out to Grand Rapids.  Once we got there, lots-o-fun was had.

Entertainment was not just music, but also an Arieal Ballerina

Beer was enjoyed
(This is me with our friend Kate, I'm trying to get her to paint something for our house, she's a fantastic and talented artist!)

I finally got a Henna Tattoo!

Isn't she a beaut!

I had a steak taco, half a hamburger, and a hot dog through out the evening

I would say the highlight of the evening - Dancing! I danced a little country jig wtih Tasha's dad. The pictures are floating somewhere. Then as a group, we started a little dance party in the middle of the festival.

Our group breaking it down.  That's me in the pigtails.

Then more people joined in and/or watched!

It was a time and a half!

At 10 o'clock, the motley crew left the shin dig and headed home.  The bus ride was at first wild and noisy with all of singing and some of the guys dancing around, but as we got closer to home, we were all exhausted!  By midnight we were back in town and I was in bed by 2!

What.  A.  Day!!!

On the healthy living front, On the fashion front, and On the active living front will be in the next post!
