But before we get started on Thursday, let's finish up Wednesday.
So as I said, I've been in an eating funk. So when I got home, I thought "Well, maybe I can just make a salad." I wanted beets and chick peas.
Dinner
In this mix:
- Salad greens
- Corn
- Peas
- Chick peas
- Beets
- Edamame
- Some grilled chicken that we had frozen after a family bbq
I was feeling kind of down. Part of it was work related, part of it was healthy eating related. So I decided that some chocolate was in order.
I finally broke into the Chocolate truffles that Tyler sent me for our food exchange.
Sorry about the picture, I don't know why it's not flipping like it always does.
I had one piece and died! LOVED IT! It definitely did the trick and cheered me up with it's savory flavor!
Finally watched So You Think You Can Dance. I like the show, but I don't like watching the auditions.
Thursday
Breakfast
The last of our whole wheat chocolate chip blueberry pancakes with a greek yogurt and sugar free maple syrup.
Went to work and tackled e-mail and pile of files on my desk! Next thing I knew it was lunch. I met up with my friend Jessica at Cosi.
I ordered the Steakhouse Salad with the Sherry Shallot Dressing instead of the Blue Cheese dressing (I'm severely allergic to Blue cheese!) with whole grain bread.
Lunch was great. Great conversation and very therapeutic. It was the type of lunch that you didn't want to end because there was so much to talk about!
Got back to work and continued on with my day. Drove home, had a snack, changed clothes and Marcin and I headed to the gym. I ran a "5K," will explain later.
Drove home and Marcin and I got working on Turkey tacos. Unfortunately, we timed everything wrong and a couple of Marcin's friends came over for Guys Night as we were making the tacos! Therefore no pictures.
Now the guys are downstairs enjoying the glorious XBox 360 and I'm upstairs blogging and enjoying this beauty:
Coconut juice that I picked up at the Chinese Market.
On the healthy front:
So not really out of the eating funk, but I'm really trying to focus on greens and vegetables. Hopefully some craving (preferably healthy) will take hold and get me out of this funk. I did start a search for a Filipino dessert - Puto. I am determined to make this by the end of the summer! It's one of my favorite Filipino desserts and from the looks of it, simple enough. I just need to find the ingredients!
On the fashion front:
Aaaaand nothing. Not sure what to write here now that my shopping is at a kabosh. I need to think of something for this area. Please stay tuned.
On the active front:
So I called this post "Pseudo 5k" because as part of my 10K training schedule, this is the weekend that I'm technically supposed to run a 5K. So for Thursday and Friday, it's a rest day and Saturday is the 5K run. Since this weekend is going to busy (yet again!), I decided to run today and take Friday - Sunday off. So I did 3.1 miles in 33:32 minutes! I even did some ab exercises with Marcin before my run so I'm feeling pretty much like a Rock Star right now.
