Tame Mid-week

So after an exciting and humbling, Tuesday and Wednesday was . .well . .tame!  LOL!

First off, the eats!

Tuesday
Breakfast
Breakfast was done on the road.  Stopped at the local McDonalds for the Bagel Egg sandwich with a coffee.

I was at a training for our new website system.  I am responsible for the transition for 2 websites at my job.  The first training session was to get myself familiarized with the new look and format of the system.  Got to tell you, my inner tech geek was uber-excited!  The training was planned for 8:30 am - 12:30 pm, but ended at 10:30 am.

Lunch
Because I thought that I would be in training through lunch, I didn't pack a lunch and figure I would pick something up . . . and I did. . .Lucky Kitchen to the rescue.  To make up for the horrible breakfast, I went with the steamed Shrimp with Vegetables.

Once again, Lucky Kitchen did NOT disappoint! DE-LISH!  I think I will add this to the rotation from there.

Work went on as usual, and I went home.  The original plan was a 40 minute run, but that didn't happen.  Marcin had started to make dinner and then it was Pint Night with friends so I had no time for a run.

Marcin had made rice in our rice cooker for the first time!  I had to talk him through the process over the phone, but he listened to my instructions and made a great batch!

Dinner

Leftover Sinigang and ribs with Marcin's first batch of rice!

I actually remembered to take a picture of my Dad's version of Sinigang!

The only thing that is missing in this picture is a big mound of spinach that my dad usually puts on top.  Yummy Yum Yum!

A fun Pint Night was had at Bailey's, though I was sleepy through most of it!

Wednesday
It was my day off on Wednesday.  I slept in a little bit and went for my 40 minute run that was supposed to be on Tuesday when I woke up.  It was not fun!  Humidity and the threat of ran.  More on that later.

Breakfast
I have no idea why I haven't been taking a picture of my breakfast lately.  Maybe it's because I'm too sleepy in the morning lately.  Anyways, after my lunch, I had a toasted waffle with a micro-poached egg on top.  Instead of salt and pepper for seasoning, I tried something different - a dash of soy sauce.  It seasoned the egg great, but not so much the waffle.  I think my original plan was to have a small thing of rice with the egg, but the run took a lot out of me and my brain fried.

Marcin planned on coming home for lunch, so I decided to wait for him before I ran my errands. It was nice to lay back and read.  When he came home, I made him a sandwhich and made myself this:

Whole wheat toast with dark chocolate peanut butter, a banana, with agave nectar

After lunch, I went about my day of errands.  First stop, the mall to get a bridal shower gift for my good friend Tiffany.  I had a time trying to find something on the list for her!  Availability was an issue, but with the help of one of the saleslady I had my gift all set!  FYI - Macy's got rid of their gift wrapping department!  :(

Grocery trip to Kroger and home supplies trip to Target and then on my way home I went.  Apparently while I was out at the mall, a mini earthquake hit Michigan!  Seriously, what is it with this week!?

Anways, when I got home, I was hungry again, so I decided to break into the new groceries I bought.

Mid Afternoon snack

Six Tiger Shrimp (on sale at Kroger!) and blanched vegetables (cauliflower, broccolli, snow peas, and carrots) with cocktail sauce on the side.

The rest of the afternoon was spent doing laundry and reading.  Nice, quiet, and relaxing!

Marcin came home from work and we decided to have the rest of the Sinigang (my dad gave us ALOT as leftovers) and buttered potatoes.  Different, I know, but we were thinking on the fly.

Dinner

I absentmindedly added rice to the Sinigang before I reheated it! Talk about carb overload!

Spent the rest of the evening watching TV and drinking wine.  Nice, relaxing, and quiet.  Went to bed and passed out!

Like I said . . .pretty tame.  Thursday was also pretty tame and my eats  . .well . .fell to wayside.

Thursday
Breakfast - Small slice of Entenmanns Coffee Crumble Cake & coffee
Lunch - Wendy's Single size Baconator.  It was another training day for the new website system and I was hanging around with the training guys who had been talking about bacon cheesebugers throughout the training.  You had to be there.  I hoping my speed workout that is scheduled for tonight will negate this.  Wishful thinking I know!

And . . Now . .We . . Are . . Caught . . Up!

On the healthy living front
I really enjoyed Wednesday's midafternoon snack.  It was simple, flavorful, and light.  I'm thinking of packing more snacks/lunch to add more variety.  I'm sort of in a shrimp mood lately.  Actually I'm in a seafood mood period.

On the fashion front
Anyone has any ideas of what to do with longish black asian hair in the humid summer!  I can't have it down because it heats up my neck.  I can where a ponytail so much before it hurts my head.  Sigh.  I would love to cut it off, but I'm growing it out for the wedding.  I will need get it trimmed soon.  *Sigh*

On the active living front
I ran for 40 minutes on Wednesday morning and it was brutal but in a good way.  I forgot to hydrate myself before my run, so I know that was a factor into the tough run.  Today is my second attempt at Speed Work Out #1Wish me luck!

Goody makes a product called Spin Pin. I've heard really good things about it, but Target was sold out of them when I went to buy one. Supposedly you just twist your hair up and then spin in the pin. :)
