Why is the weekend over already!?

Hello folks!  I know that I said that I wouldn't post on Sundays, but so much happened this weekend, I want to get it all out there!

Friday
Breakfast
Marcin and I split the last piece of the Entenmanns Coffee Crumble Cake with Coffee.

Friday I had to do as much work on the website transitions as I could.  I will be at a different department for the summer, so Friday was THE DAY for me to get a big chunk changed before I come back in August.

Lunch
Old Fashion Sandwich (provolone, chicken, and turkey slices with Bunny Mush spread.)

I succeeded in transitioning a major portion of the text of two websites into the new system.  It was actually not as bad as I thought it would be.  The only bumps I hit was my browser crashing in the middle of an edit.

Went home and waited for my sister to come.  She came over on Thursday to study for the GRE.  I offered our guest bedroom for the weekend so that she can be completely isolated.  She took me up on my offer.  So when she came over, we all went out for dinner.

We decided to try a new Asian buffet restaurant that I found a coupon for - Fortune Buffet.  They had a larger selection of food options than Ruby Buffet.  The sushi station was also set-up better than in Ruby Buffet.  After making the rounds to see all of the options (which is thing to do at a buffet), we got to work on dinner!
Dinner
Dish #1 - clams, radish salad (DELISH!), chicken dumpling, 2 pieces of dim sum, green beans, Chinese salads, a small scoop of rice.

Dish #2 - 6 pieces of sushi (variety), more radish salad

Small bowl of Vanilla Chocolate twist yogurt!

Yes, I did leave Fortune Buffet more stuffed than I should have, but it was some really good eats.  Marcin and I decided that Fortune Buffet is better than Ruby Buffet, so we will be sending our business that way when we get a hankering for Asian buffet food!

The rest of the night was spent relaxing and watching programs saved on our DVR while Sherry studied.

Saturday (or as like the call, the day that Jessica FINALLY ate well!)
Breakfast
I woke up with a craving for blanched vegetables.  Crazy, I know, especially for breakfast, but the craving was there and I had to obey!
Half a plate of blanched vegetables (with cocktail sauce on the side of dipping), turkey bacon, and 2 poached eggs.

I'm telling you, it was delicious!  So flavorful, so light, and incredibly filling!  Saturday, I was heading to a Bridal Shower for my good friend Tiffany.  So after breakfast, I wrapped her presents and got all gussied up for the event.  What do you think?  Did this tomboy do good?
I thank my sister for taking this picture and making me look tall!

It took me a while to get to the bridal shower (held at Polo Field Golf Club) because my GPS on my phone started to freak out!  It kept telling to go off every exit that I passed.  Luckily, I read the directions before I let the navigations take over, so I just trusted the written directions.

Once I got there, I met more of Tiffany's friends and family.  I also got to spend some QT with Tasha!
Obviously not Tasha, but the cutest Bridal Shower guest I have ever seen!

Me, Tiffany (the Bride), and Tasha (Geez, even 3 inch heels I'm still a munchkin!)

Check out the prizes!  Chanel lotion, Lancome products, Clinque products, and MORE!

I picked up this beauty.

So at the bridal shower is where I had lunch.  I have to say, I love the lunch that Tiffany picked out!

Lunch
A delicious chicken pot pie dumpling with a half a plate of fruit!
In the picture, you can see the cookie that Tiffany baked for her guests!  It was delicious.

What else was delicious?  Dessert!
 mmmmm Cheesecake

During the bridal shower, Tasha and I made tentative plans to go running later.  Overall, A+ bridal shower!  Great (AND healthy!) eats, fun games, awesome prizes, and great company!  I hope mine is just as fun.  I just realized that is in less than a month away!  EEEK!

Went home and panic for a bit.  Marcin had moved his couch from the living room to the sitting room, so I came home to a somewhat empty living.  I had completely forgotten that we were getting our new sectional couch on Saturday!  The delivery truck came at 6:00 pm (after giving us a window of 3-6 - typical!).
Now we can fit more people into our living room!  Also, on days like this, I can sit on one end and blog which stretching out my legs, and Marcin can layout on the other end and watch TV!

For dinner, we went out again.  This time to Olive Garden.  For the longest time, I was VERY anti-Olive Garden.  I think I had a bad salad there one time and never wanted to go back.  Unfortunately, Marcin L.O.V.E.S. Olive Garden because of their endless soup, salad, and bread sticks.  For years, I would nix Olive Garden dinner dates for other places.  After a while, I started to let go of my dislike and try it again.  I found other dishes that I like.  This time, I planned ahead and checked out their nutritional menu on their website.

Dinner
 For starters, Minestrone soup!
Main course - Ravioli Di Portobello (Portobello mushroom-filled ravioli)

Normally, it comes with a creamy smoked cheese and sun-dried tomato sauce.  However, since I was planning on running 4 miles later, I decided against the heavy cheese sauce and went with a regular marinara sauce.  It was heaven.  It filled me up without the "heavy in the stomach" feeling.

Hour and half later, Marcin and I headed off to a park in Garden City for my first 4 mile run in a loooooong time.  I like this park because one loop around it equals 1.2 miles, so it's pretty ease to keep track of your mileage.  However, I do not feel comfortable enough in that area to go by myself, so typically I run there with Tasha (who brings her dogs).  This was Marcin's first time at the park and since he decided not to run anymore (sciatic issues), he rollerbladed instead.

What started as a 4 mile run, ended up being a 6 mile run!  More on that later!

Went home, showered, spent QT time with the Foam Roller (that piece of equipment is a heaven for my muscles!) and the zonked out for the night.

Sunday
After sleeping in a bit, we woke up and got started breakfast for Sherry's last morning with us! Unfortunately, I was completely out of it to remember to take a picture.  But I swear to you, it was good.

Breakfast - Two egg cheese omelet, one piece of waffle, and lightly salted tomato slices.

We said goodbye to Sherry and went grocery shopping at Kroger for a bbq with Marcin's mom in the evening.  We had TONS of bottles to return ($15.00 worth!).  Our total bill which would have been roughly $75.00 was $45.00 with the bottle returns + $10.00 store savings!  I hearts Kroger!

When we got back to the house, we started work on our office.  It has been stuck in this dark blue paint since we bought the house.  We call it the "Toy Story" room because it had all these Toy Story decals and a Toy Story banner that ran along the middle of the walls.  The decals did not come off easy, so we decided to sand them down and prime over it.  Currently, the room is all primed with one coat.  The blue is so dark, we will need another coat of primer on the walls.  So what we thought was going to be a one day project, is turning into a 2-3 day one!  I promise, pictures when it is done.

Once we finished with the first coat of primer paint, we stopped and got ready for the bbq.  I had marinaded chicken in Kraft Sun Dried Tomato vinigrette and beef slices in A1 Cracked Pepper Sauce after breakfast.  Marcin's mom came over with vegetables.  Put them all on the grill and you have . . .
A delicious plate of vegetables and meats!

Now, it's relaxing time on the new couch and catching on with me blogs.

On the healthy living front
I really enjoyed my day of eats on Saturday.  One meal had a half a plate of veggies, another meal had a half a plate of fruit, and  the pasta dish gave me enough energy to take my 4 mile run into a 6 mile run!  Now, if only I can translate those meals into ther 6 other days of the week!

On the fashion front
I have a confession to make.  I bought a new purse on a impulsive whim!
A red shoulder/crossbody bag from Forever 21 and I think it's perfect for my August purse!  I'm sick, I know!

On the active living front
So on Saturday, the original plan was to run a 4 mile run as part of my 10K Training Schedule.  The park had a asphalt path that is 1.2 miles in one loop.  When I got there, I decided that this time, I would run on the grass along side of the path in order to prep myself for the trail run at the end of July.  This was soooooo much better than running on the asphalt!  I ran one full mile completely and took few breaks during the second lap.  Tasha joined us for the third and forth lap and that motivated me to keep going.  I did stop to walk occasionally when I felt like my legs were going to go out from under me.  Occasionally I would have to run on the asphalt and the shock from going from the grass to the asphalt got to me.  Tasha had her new Garmin watch, so she would tell me what our pace was.  I remember hearing a 10:13 pace and a 9:15 pace (!).  Of course the 9:15 pace was when I hauled ass to the "finish line" at the end of the fourth loop.  Hearing those numbers was both an ego boost and motivational boost I needed.

After the four laps, Tasha said that she was going for two more and I felt bad leaving her in the dark park by herself. Granted she had her two hyper dogs with her, but the protective friend in me took over and I said that we would join her for one more loop.  So that is a total of 5 loops around the park which equals SIX MILES!  Needless to say, the time with the foam roller was both wanted and needed!

Thus ends my weekend friends.  As Marcin said, "A great end to what started out as a crappy week!"

I hope that you had a good one as well.  Anything exciting happen to you all?
