Thursday
Lunch
Finished up work and headed home. We normally go workout after work on Thursdays, but last night, we had to make another round of wedding band shopping. Apparently the one that we picked doesn't come in my size, so we were trying to find another tungsten carbide wedding band that could be ordered in my size. Our plan for the wedding bands is that we would get a matching set. I told Marcin that he could pick the band and I will get he same one. It's starting to look like that is not a viable option, so now we have to do more looking around. Just when I thought I could check that off our wedding To Do List!
After looking into two jewelry shops with some potential options, we went to dinner at Alex's Family Dining. I've been threre before and liked the food, so I asked Marcin if he wanted to try.
Dinner
I got the same thing that I got last time - Chicken Kabob Dinner
This time I got different vegetables and instead of rice I got fries. My dinner also came with a greek salad.
I had a plan of action for this dinner:
1) Eat the entire salad - which I did and it was delicious!
2) When my dinner arrived, move the fries to a different plate and place the plate far away from me.
3) Eat all of the veggies and the chicken
4) If I was still hungry, I would grab some fries.
And the plan worked. I ate all of my veggies, most of the chicken and only a few pieces of fries.
When we got home, I was beat! I don't know what it is about Thursdays, but I feel so run down by that day that all I can do is just lie in bed and read! I needed something to relax me, so I made myself a big mug of Bedtime Yogi tea that I won from Fashion Meets Food's Yogi tea giveaway! You should check out her blog. Lots of fun pictures of fashion and food!
Warm tea plus good reading equals this girl falling asleep with the book still in her hand! LOL!
Friday
Breakfast
I had so many options for breakfast I just didn't know what to choose! Went with something basic (and also needed to drink up the last of the rice milk before it went bad! Nothing like spoiled food and wasting money to help your decision!)
Cascasdian Farms/Barbara Puffin cereal mix with Rice Milk.
After due consideration, I've decided not to buy Rice Milk anymore. It's too thin for the rice pudding recipe that I attempted to make first and with the cereal, it's just too sweet. So Soy Milk - Yay, Coconut Milk - Yay . .Rice Milk - NOPE!
Went to work and took a big bite into my second big project in the summer. It took my all of the morning to get it half way done, but at least I made a major dent in it! Looked up and realized that it was lunch time. (There may have been a cherry cheese pastry that a coworker treated the staff with that was consumed during the morning. It was delicious!)
Lunch
Noodles & Company's Japanese Pan Noodles with beef
I enjoyed this bad boy whilst finishing up my book and starting on my newest issues of Self Magazine. It was a nice relaxing time and I needed it.
Now it's time to get back to the daily grind. The thing is now my body and my head is screaming at me. And of course, my migraine medication is at a very convenient place right now . . .at home! I'm torn and what to do, do I leave work early and head home so that I can take my medication. Mind you, I'm not at my permanent department, I'm at a different department temporarily, so I don't want to make a bad impression by leaving sick three weeks in! I could just sit here and mull around online, but that is only going to aggravate my headache even more . . .I will see how long I can survive before I just can't take it anymore . . .
Luckily for me, a student I used to work with in my permanent job just dropped by! It was nice to catch up with her and her life! She's going to be working in the same town, so I told her to let me know when she is settled and we will go out for dinner one night. The conversation definitely brought my spirits back up (As well as kept me from being a mindless slave to the computer screen!)
2 more hours till the weekend . .on the list for tonight - Making our first Beer Can Chicken with Marcin and his Mom! Yep you heard that right, we are going to grill a whole chicken with a beer can inside of it . . .wish us luck!
On the healthy living front
Not sure what to do about the rundown feeling I get every Thursday. Normally, a good workout will put me back in the right spirits. But when I don't get to the gym, then what? Maybe I just need to accept the fact that my body is telling me to sit still because it knows that I do not technically rest on my "Rest days." I wish I could be cloned, that why at least one of my clones can have the time to rest!
