First up, my own version of Breakfast Rice Pudding. One of my friends, Claudia, had posted a picture of her Rice Porridge with Cinnamon and Apples. Also, Tina @ Carrots 'N' Cake recently posted her version of Breakfast Rice Pudding. So I sort of merged the two together.
You can find my recipe on my Recipes of the Day Page. :)
Second on the list, PUTO (pronounce poo-toe)
I cannot begin to tell you how happy and excited I am that I can make this dessert on my own. Before, I could only get this treat when my family would go on vacation to Toronto. I did find a batch at a local filipino store once, but I haven't seen it since. Now, I can go to either the Chinese Market by my house OR Kroger for hte ingredients!
Third on the list, dinner! LOL!
Udon Soup
I just took one of those ready made packets of noodle and seasoning and added the following:
- Baby corn
- Brussel sprouts
- Edamame
- Bok Choy
- Asian style mixed vegetables
Instead of water, I used chicken broth instead.
Can you believe that I did all three of these dishes at the same time? It helps to read all of the recipes before had and have a plan of attack. For example, while the rice was boiling for the Breakfast pudding in one pot, I had the rice cooker going to heat up the water for steaming. In a bigger pot, I had the chicken broth ready for me to start boiling and was I waited for everything to boil or cook or steam, I chopped the vegetables for the Udon soup. It's a delicate balance.
Thus ends my weekend!
On the healthy living front:
I am really going to concentrate on my eating habits this week. I'm going to set an alarm to remind me to pack my lunch the night before so that I'm not tempted to go out and buy a meal outside. I really need to save $$$!
On the fashion front:
Spent the weekend in sundresses. It was fun! Very comfortable and very girlie! Speaking of fashion, remember when I posted about Fashion for Food's Yogi Tea Give Away? Well, I won! :) I received this delightful package yesterday!
Inside this lovely package:
And a note:
I will be definitely make use of the Bedtime Tea tonight. I need something to calm me down after all of the excitement of making Puto. Marcin and I actually tried the Kombucha Tea Last night! It actually had more of a minty taste (spearmint is on the list of ingredients) which was nice a refreshing).
On the active front:
Kept a low profile this weekend. My chest or lungs are not fully 100% after the breathing in the chemical fumes yesterday. I didn't want to risk passing out. Working on the foam roller thought was fun, so I'm definitely going to add that to the workout rotation. I may start every Wednesday morning with that routine.
Goodnight my lovelies! Sleep well!

Looks like you've been a busy little cook! My wedding is less than a month away and I am no where near the weight I want to be so now i`m in major panic mode! Glad you're enjoying the yogi tea. I don't know if I like the tea more or the sayings on the bags.
xo
Wow im jealous... i can't cook. its like one burnt meal after the other. i really need to change my lifestyle too coz i need to be healthy. how can i start? haha
@ Gessyl - It's really easy, start with easy dishes and steaming is a good way and healthy way to cook . .and you can't burn anything!
Wow! The food looks, as always, amazing! :-) I hear you about needing to save money. My intentions are good but I never have spare minutes to pack a lunch in the morning... I might have to suck it up and do it before bed. These fast food stop are KILLING ME. lol
Nice and easy- simple and tasty! Love it.
