HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BEAUTIFUL MOTHER
My mom turns 66 today! In this picture she was 64 and she pretty much looks the same. Isn't she beautiful? I hope I age as well as she does!
Now, on to the eats!
Monday
Breakfast:
I had my Breakfast rice pudding that I made on Sunday. Added some Puffins cereal on top.
Verdict: OK. I think next time, I would use a thicker milk and yogurt combo instead of Rice Milk. I found some different recipes online that I'm thinking of trying. One in particular is great for leftover rice, which is always the case in the House of Kowalewski (official title of our home after our wedding in October . . almost 3 months away!)!
Went to work and realized I left my work keys at home. Great start to a work week and a Monday morning. However, I didn't let that get me down. Instead, I blazed through my morning working on a big project. It's almost done, but I'm waiting for access to one thing. Still waiting for it as of this morning :-/
As I said, I'm really trying to watch what I eat. I'm trying to incorporate the Eat Clean principle and eat smaller meals throughout the day. So by 10:30, I went ahead and had an orange for my mid-morning snack.
I used to be obsessed with oranges! Seriously, one time when I was sick, I just at oranges . . .that cold lasted about 2 days . .it was awesome!
More work to be had . . . 2 hours later, my stomach was telling me it was lunch time!
Lunch
One cup of my Quintessential Quinoa with Tuna and cherry tomatoes.
I also added a dressing mixture of lemon juice, Sundried Tomato Vinnigrette, and cayenne pepper for some flavor and kick. mmmmm . .it was comforting and filling.
More work and putting out small fires! I love my job! Soon it was closing time and I headed off to meet up with my coworkers in my home department for dinner. We were playing catch up because one of them went to Rome and Malta in June! Off we went to Pizza House!
I feel like everytime I go to Pizza House, I never know exactly what I want. I stared at the menu just hoping that something would jump out at me. This time, it was the Steak Fries. So that means, find a sandwhich or something to go with the steak fries!
Dinner:
Black Bean Burger with Steak Fries and a large glass of water (I was so dehydrated by the time dinner rolled around!)
The steadk fries was everything that I was hoping they would be and more. The burger was only so so. I love how the veggie patty had big chunks of corn and black beans and other goodies. However, the bun was GINORMOUS and the veggie patty got lost in the taste. I only added half of the sandwhich fixings to the burger and ate the rest as sort of a psuedo salad.
My co-workers and I kept talking throughout dinner and before we knew it, it was time for dessert!
Hello beauties! New York Cheesecake with caramel and Oreo Sundae! This was shared by all three of us, but I mostly had the cheesecake!
Monday night ended with some Tosh.0 action and some light reading!
Tuesday
Breakfast
I was very excited about breakfast this morning. My friend Claudia made us some Kiwi Jam!
hmm . .she even added some nice spirits into the mix . . wow, does she know us or what!?
But first, I had to take care of the dehydration!
No, this is not a fruity beer! It's my aloe vera/gatorade concoction.
Recently, I began drinking aloe vera juice as a way to aid in my digestion. After the weekend of BBQ's, I needed something to help me get my digestion back to normal. I do have to say that it's been working. I was attempting to do 6 oz every day, but I'm still not used to the taste, so I cut it down to 3 oz.
In this mixture:
3 oz of Aloe Vera Juice
6 oz of Gatorade (I figure the hit of electrolytes wouldn't hurt and to help mask the taste of the aloe)
7 oz of water
Total - 16 oz of cleansing hydration goodness. If you are going to attempt this, be advised! You will be taking plenty of trips to the bathroom to relieve your bladder! I've already been to the bathroom 4 times!
After I downed this drink, I good to go for breakfast!
Whole wheat waffle with Kiwi Jam.
O DOT M DOT G! It was delicious! Claudia manage to get the sweet taste of the kiwi and got rid of the sour or tart aftertaste! I was in heaven. Marcin had the same but also included peanut butter. I didn't want any other flavors to hinder the taste of the jam for my first time. But I will definitely have it wit DCPB as my preworkout snack after work! THANK YOU CLAUDIA!
On the healthy living front, On the fashion front, and On the active living front will be posted on the next post. Stay tuned!
