Apologies for being Missing In Action for the rest of the week. I've kind of been in a funk since Tuesday Night. Not sick (although I did have migraine last night that wasn't fun) or depressed - just felt like going through the motions of life you know. Luckily, some of my eats have been repeats so I can try to make this as short as possible!
Breakfast
Tuesday - Thursday - Puffin Cereal Mix:
The Puffins, the Cheerioes, and the Cascadian Farms are officially done. I'm a little sad because it was a darn good breakfast and a darn good cereal combination!
Lunch:
Tuesday - No Thai's Drunken Noodles with Shrimp (Sorry, picture was taken mid-eating)
Wednesday
Orzo, zuchinni, basil salad and grapes made by my friend Michelle.
Thursday:
Panera's Pick Two - Chicken Tortilla Soup and Chicked Cesear Salad with an Apple (not pictured)
Dinner
Tuesday
Marcin and I split up Chicken Wings with Chili Garlic Sauce and
Fries (sorry for the blurry picture). I wish I would have known that they changed their fries! It used to be Steak Fries and now they are regular size fries. . . Now that I know, I will be getting hte sweet potato fries from now on!
Thursday - Chili with Red Pepper and Onion Quinoa (Not pictured due to a migraine) Marcin made it for me while I was in bed and brought it up to me with a big smile and said "Dinner in Bed is Served!" He was so cute!
Highlights from the past couple of days:
Tuesday: Ran/walked for 45 minutes. 10 minute walk at 2.5. 10 minute run at 5.0 (I've decided that I will no longer run at 5.0, it's just too slow of a pace for me and it actually hurts to try to maintain that pace!). 5 minute walk at 3.0. 5 minute run at 5.5. 5 minute walk at 3.0. 10 minute run at 6.0.
Wednesday: Hung out poolside with my friend Michelle at her Mother in Law's house.
I also cooked a fabulous dinner and took care of Bridal Shower deets with my sis!
Thursday: I got a migraine late in the day. It's not exactly a highlight, but it's something telling!
I think that should about cover what went on over the past three days.
On the healthy living front:
I started drinking Aloe Vera Juice with my 16 oz of water. What I'm trying to do is to have 6 oz per day. So on Thursday, I had 2 oz of it with my 16 oz of water first thing in the morning, then I added 4 oz to another 16 oz for the rest of the day. Because of my migraine, I didn't prepare my morning drink. So today I have 6 oz in 16 oz of water for the whole day. It's definitely an interesting taste. It's almost like adding a fruit juice to your water without the overly sugar taste. Then there's a hint of a plant taste to the water. I got the idea of taking Aloe Vera Juice from Riss at Eclectic Bowl. She writes on how Aloe Vera Juice:
"acts as a natural cleanser and re-vitalizer, taking care of anything from poor circulation, detoxing the blood, ridding the body of bacteria, healing ulcers, and – of course – a beauty treatment for your skin!" -Riss @ Eclectic Bowl
Hopefully in two weeks, I will see some results. I already see that it is helping my digestion, but I don't think that you want me to write about THAT!
On the fashion front:
So two things:
1) Jeans - Due to a recent need to replace many of well worn jeans, I have acquired 7 pairs of jeans! Well, more like 5 new jeans and two somewhat worn jeans that I wear around the house. Because jeans are pricey, I want to take special care of the 5 new pairs. So I wonder, what is the best option, where one pair of jean per day (this is for when it get's cooler) or where one pair of jeans per week? Thoughts?
2) I had bought this sundress from Old Navy during my Outlet shopping excursion with my sister in May. At the store it looked great. I even wore it to my Girlie Night with some of my Gal Pals when we went to see Sex and the City 2. What I thought looked great at the store, now kind of looks frumpy to me.
Excuse the wet hair . . Due to the heat, I'm rebelling against my hair dryer. My drive is long enough to work that it dries by the time I park my car!
The bonus is that this dress has pockets! I don't know, I think I will still keep it. Maybe it will become a house dress.
On the active front:
I haven't been active this week as I should be. With the exception of Tuesday where I ran for 45 minutes, I've been pretty haven't done any concentrated exercise. I have my 10 minute walks between my building and the parking structure at work, so I haven't been sedate, just not as thoughtful in my workouts. Part of me is starting to feel like a slave to the gym. I mean, for a while it's Wake up/Shower/Work/Gym/Another Shower/Blog or social activity/Go to Bed and Repeat. I think having this set schedule is started to make me restless. Last night, while I was fighting a migraine and somewhat medicated, I read a book. Do you know how long it has been since I laid in bed just reading?! I think the last time was at my old apartment a year ago! It was nice and relaxing and very much needed. I think I will pick up my workout schedule again on Sunday, but for now, I think my mind, body, and soul just need to feel free to do whatever with my free time and not be so structured.
Do you ever stop thinking of working out as "Me Time" and start thinking of it as a chore?
