SnowPocalpse 2011.2 ???

Happy Monday folks!

So for those of you who live in the Southeast Detroit area, you can blame my husband (or Minnesota) for the snow blizzard that followed the 50 degree weather we were having last week.

While my husband safely returned home from a business trip in Minnesota, the blizzard that almost delayed him from coming home followed him to MI two days later!  More on that later . . .

On the healthy front
Well, being sick all last week had some pluses.  I mostly wanted bland foods and or soups because of my nasty cough.  Even after being diagnosed with bronchitis and getting the proper medication, my appetite was not all there.  I think the medication was taking my cravings away.

The only time I really gorged myself was at a friend's wedding on Saturday.  Even then, I was careful not to stuff my plate.

MyFitnessPal has been helping me stay honest and helping me really look at my diet.  I'm so glad that I found it.

On the active front
Well, I haven't been able to really work out in awhile.  Last Monday, I went to a belly dancing class with my friend Tiffany (who is also a Mrs. K!).  She was my Valentine as my husband was on his business trip and her husband was working late.  The Mrs. K's  United!   Unfortunately, by the ended of the night, I was in one coughing fit after the other.  The next real exercise I had was dancing at the wedding on Saturday (again, ended the evening in a coughing fit), shoveling the 4 out of the 8 inches of snow that fell on Sunday, and the hour spent this evening shoveling the rest of the 8 (possibly 10) inches of snow from the rest of the storm.

Here's our front yard after we were done.  You can't tell, but the snow banks on either side are really snow mountains!  On one side, the snow pile is as tall as I am!

I'm hoping to get to the gym sometime soon.  I think I'm going to ease in with strength training for a couple of days before I get into cardio.

Weigh In:

I've been at 133 for a couple of weeks now.  I'm hoping that once I can really get back to the gym, I can really focus on my goal.  Just 3 pounds away from my mini goal of 130 by the end of February.  I think that is doable.

Hope everyone was safe during the snowstorm!

Between being sick and the snow, doesn't it feel like it's been forever getting back to the gym? I got sick too and boy that derailed me! Good idea easing back into it! We had 70 degree temps on Friday and now we have snow. Go figure.

My mum called me yesterday and said that they had gotten a ton of snow. At that point it was just super rainy here. Then later last night the temp dropped and the snow came. Everything is an ice rink under the snow and we got about 12 inches...not fun at all. My weight has been completely stuck. I definitely need to switch this up or something because at this rate i`ll never fit in my spring clothes.

Oh No! I think the ice didn't hit my area, but it did hit other areas in MI!
