My top three beauty advice I ever received

Happy Friday Folks!

Another work week done, and many more to go!  I'm very excited this weekend.  I'm heading out to Traverse City with a few of my girlfriends.  A quick girl's weekend get away to chill on a beach and drink some good wine!

But before I leave, I must give you my top three beauty advice that I ever received/read.

Beauty Tip #1 - Use a sponge

My friend Michelle gave me one of the best advice that she received from a dermatologist.  Take a wet sponge...
Ecotools Celloulose Bath Sponge (Pack of 2)

. . .and put your face product on it and use the sponge to wash your face.  I do an alternative version of this.  I take my face wash product and use my hands first to work the product into a lather and then spread it on my face.  I take the wet sponge and work the face product in more using a circular motion around my face.

Once I started this, I noticed a huge difference in my skin.  My pimples, when I get them, are much smaller and heal up quicker.  My complexion is clearer and smooth.  This is because the sponge helps to exfoliate not only the gunk that has accumulated on your face throughout the day, but also gently exfoliate your skin as well!

Beauty Tip #2 - Use face wash products only at night
I can't remember which magazine wrote this, but the advice was to only use your face product to wash your face at night.  Why?  Well, at night is when your body goes into healing mode, so the product will work better.  If you use it in the morning, the product will evaporate off your face once you get outside.  Also, since you had just used the product 7-8 hours before, you may be drying out your skin more or doing more harm than good.  Another surprising bonus, you save $$$$$.  Since you are using the product half the time, the product last twice as long.  I'm still using my Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel that I received in my Boscia Skin Care Sample Set that I got in December, but didn't start using until March.

This 1.86 fl oz bottle has lasted 5 months!  I still have more product!

Obviously, this advice works best if you are a morning shower person like me.  In the morning, I rinse my face in the shower and then continue on with the rest of my beauty routine (toner+eye cream+moisturizer).

Beauty Tip #3 - Wash your face EVERY night!
Beauty Tip # 1 and #2 works the best if you follow Beauty Tip #3 . . .wash your face EVERY NIGHT!  No matter how late or how tired you are, it's so important to remove the day's worth of pollutants, make up, and other gunk of your face before you smush your face into a pillow (or as my husband tells me, dive into the pillow like I do).  What I try to do is wash my face before I settle on the couch and cuddle with my pup and hubby.  But I forget often and I'm notorious for falling asleep on the couch.  So when my husband wakes me up, I have to really motivate myself to wash my face.  I just remind myself of the big pimple that may pop up over night!

So try it out for a month and see if you notice any improvement!

Have a good weekend!

This is great advice!  Question..how often are you supposed to clean/replace your sponge?  How do you make sure it doesn't grow bacteria?  Any advice on that?  Thanks friend!

I have always heard to use face wash products in the morning and at night... I might have to try just using it at night.

You will love them.  Here's another tip, cut them in half and get even more bang for your buck!

Me too, but I read one article that gave a convincing argument on why you shouldn't.  I wish I had saved it, but once I started to follow the tip, my skin improved greatly!

I will elaborate more on that in my next post!  Thanks for pointing it out!

So... remember how you got me hooked on these? Now I can't find them in stores! Where do you get them locally? The first couple times I got them at Target but now I've checked Target, ULTA & Walmart with no luck.

Oh No! Keep checking Target, I know it's one of their staple brands . .it could be that they are out of stock. If not, try a health food store that has a beauty section. They should have the same brand if not similar. CVS and Rite Aid should also carry them as well!
